In a world that is becoming faster, busier, and more crowded, we have almost forgotten what nature has to offer us. Filmmaker Marcel Everts changes this with his second feature film: Shinrin Yoku. Following the success of his debut De Achtertuin van Kees (Kees' Backyard), Everts now invites the viewer to slow down and reconnect with the essence of existence.

Shinrin Yoku, Japanese for 'forest bathing', is not a film you simply watch, but an experience you undergo. In the silence of the forest, time slows down. Captured in Everts’ signature style: pure, sincere, and intimate, where you stand as a viewer right among the trees, amidst the light, the leaves, and the rhythm of the wind. This visually rich film offers a cinematographic ode to silence, wonder, and the healing power of nature. An oasis of calm in a time of constant stimulation.
